Oh gosh! Open House time

This was my look for yesterday when I was attending my son's Open House at his school.  I realized I haven't touched my Inglot, and Sugarpill items for a few days since the new hauled in items.  And had to go, and do those.

Oh you're such a Sweetheart Sugarpill!

Figured I should do a review on the other pressed eyeshadows that I have from the lovely company Sugarpill Cosmetics.  As soon as I began redoing swatches, Xan (my son) smiles and asked me if I could do another Pokeball on his cheek.
Cheesin' for the camera with his Pikachu!
Sweetheart palette, and Bulletproof was the first items I ordered from Sugarpill Cosmetics.  And I instantly fell into awe with it.  Their palettes go for $34 each, and they contain four eyeshadows in it.  For a single eyeshadow it goes for $12 each.  Pricey for some I know, but if you pick them up you won't regret it.

Nail Polish: Milani One Coat Glitter - Twinkle, Lavender, & Pink Flare

In my little box of goodies from Milani Cosmetics, there were these three One Coat Glitter nail polishes, that are new to their One Coat Glitter polish family.

Review: Milani Cosmetics Haute Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Lipgloss - Flashy

For the look I did today, I picked up a random Milani Cosmetics's Haute Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Lipgloss in my stash, without even looking.  And I ended up grabbing their lipgloss shade Flashy.

Review: Milani Cosmetics - Paint Eyeshadow Palette

Since the first time I saw people posting about this, I was intrigued with the way it looks in the pan. So glad this, and two of Milani's other eyeshadow palettes, came with my prize.
Just looking at the pan it looks so beautiful.  So eye catching, and different from all the eyeshadow palettes you normally see with drugstore brands, or with what Milani usually carries.  They go for $7.99 at the moment.
This eyeshadow palette is their Paint palette, for obvious reasons of course.

L.o.t.D moment with Milani

Today's look was focused on Milani Cosmetics' Paint Eyeshadow Palette, which I received from their giveaway.  I will have another post focused on the palette swatches soon.

Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!!

So today's nails were inspired by Nails Adored, but I ended up doing something different with it.  I decided to do the tie-dye trick I learned from my awesome friend Emily (A VERY creative nail artist <3).
I layered polish colors using Nails Adored way, and allowed it to dry.  I then took a cotton swab, and dipped it into a bowl I had poured some acetone in.  From there I gently rubbed it upon the nail to lift some of the polish off.  Simple, and very fun to do.

Nail Polish: New Milani Jewel FX - Fuchsia, Teal, Lavender, Hot Pink, & Red

Thank you Milani for giving me these!  I am not really a fan of glitter items, mostly cause how it's such a pain to remove it (foil trick FTW!), but I was fine with these.
Listed from left to right:
  • Lavender
  • Red
  • Fuchsia
  • Teal
  • Hot Pink
The three from the left, have the Jewel FX logo on it, but the two on the right side do not.  Though they are still part of Milani Cosmetics' Specialty Nail Lacquer Jewel FX family.
When I was looking at all the wonderful nail polishes I have received from them, I knew I had to bang out the Jewel FX polishes first.  The glitters look so gorgeous swirling around inside that bottle.  On their site, the polishes go for $4.99 each.
Milani Jewel FX - Fuchsia
Milani Jewel FX - Red
Milani Jewel FX - Lavender
Milani Jewel FX - Hot Pink
Milani Jewel FX - Teal
Don't they just look gorgeous in the bottles?
These were only one coat, to show how it would look when you first apply it.  I actually prefer it this way than having a massive amount in one brush.  You could build up on these chunky glitters!  I love how the Fucshia, Lavender, and Teal are.  They have large and small glitter particles in it.
This was two coats of the polish, and I am in total awe with it.  They look gorgeous glistening in direct SoCal sunlight, or well what sunlight I had at the time haha.
  • Fucshia - large and small particles of fucshia glitters
  • Red - large red glitter
  • Lavender - large and small particles of lavender glitters
  • Hot Pink - large hot pink glitter with a mixture of silver holo graphics
  • Teal - a mixture of chunky blue, teal, & silver holo glitter with small glitter particles
So I took the two polishes that I liked the most and threw it over a random polish that I also received from Milani.
The base color is another new nail polish from them.  It's called Mint Candy, which I will post later on this week about it.  Super gorgeous color!  The Jewel FX I picked was Lavender and Teal.  My middle finger was a mixture of the two of them on one nail.  So you could totally combine glitter coats!

A great item to pick up if you're a chunky glitter lover!  These will look killer with a matte top coat polish over it!  You'll see me doing that in the future!

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonder polisholic day <3

Nail Polish: Sinful Colors Zeus and Pandora

Sinful Colors is another cheapo brand of polish.  They go for $1.99 each usually, and you could find them at Rite-Aid, Walgreens, and Target.  I picked these two up a while back over at Walgreens for Buy 2 for $3, and it's from their Castaway collection.

L.o.t.D. - Oh neutral!

Today was one of those days that I felt the need to go neutral.  As much as I love colorful looks, I need to learn to get back into those neutral moments.  Thanks Emi for that!

Oh Milani you're too kind! What I won from their MVP.

I would like to thank Milani Cosmetics for doing this giveaway.  If you haven't heard Milani has been giving out prizes all this month on the weekdays!  It is open to US and Canada residents only.  All you have to do is enter VIA their Facebook fan page or retweet one of their status updates upon TwiiterOne tweet, and one entry will have you entered into the entire duration of the giveaways.  There is one giveaway all WEEKDAY!  Winners from Twitter, as well as winners from Facebook.  I believe this is only for the month of March.  So get those entries in if you haven't done so yet!
I won their Twitter contest on March 16, and was super excited!  Seriously when you find out you won, you'll be screaming too.  I was that excited!
So of course when I received the notification, I screamed with joy.  Hubs and kiddo were looking at me weird.  They just don't understand haha!

Lipstick Searching 101

The most common sense thing to do before buying any product is, do your research!  "Google is your friend."  Look up reviews, check out swatches, etc.  Get an idea of how the lipstick might look.

When heading to the cosmetic shop (i.e. Sephora, Ulta, MAC, etc.) to try out some testers, PLEASE DO NOT PUT THAT LIPSTICK ON YOUR SKIN!  You have no idea how many times I have seen people do this, and it just makes me go "WTF?!  Are you stupid?!"  There are so many bacteria lurking around the beauty bar.  Take a few seconds and think about it.  How many people have pick that lipstick up?  Now, how many of those people placed it upon their skin, or lips?  What if someone dropped it on the floor?  Common sense!  It isn't sanitary if it has just been sitting there.

Usually the shops have rubbing alcohol laying around, so that way you could disinfect it yourself, or you could ask one of the promo people if they could do it for you.  At that point you could test it on your lips.  But for my personal choice, I still choose not to.

Most people would use the back of their hand to see how the lipstick looks.  It may show you the great color indication, but it will still look different upon your lips.  Your finger tips have a closer texture to your actual lips.  So doing lipstick swatches upon your fingertips will help you out on how it would look upon your lips.

Now you can take your finger, and place it near your lips (not on your lips).  Check the mirror.  You can now decide if the lipstick shade is right for you.

Happy hunting for lipsticks!  Enjoy your day gorgeous!

Nail Polish 101

Most people have the tendency to shake their nail polish bottles, right before they do their nails.  This is a common mistake, since shaking the bottle will cause tiny bubbles as soon as it dries, which will cause your nail polish to chip faster.

Instead take the bottle between your hands, and roll it for about 25 to 30 seconds.

If you are not going to use the polish right away, and you find it separated (oil and color separation), then go ahead and give it a little shake!

Happy polishing doll!

Uh-oh FiS'ed moment!

When ever I mention FiS it means "F*** it!  Splurge!"  It's something my best friend and I say when we just pick up something, usually cosmetic items, and not care at all.  Or it would be where it's on our "I want" list, and we wouldn't get it, since it isn't a "I am in a rush to get it," sort of thing.  Then once we see it in the shop -ninja'ed and dances- "FiS!"

Well today I decided to pick up a few theBalm items!
  • Hot Ticket - All you do is taupe!
  • Plump Your Pucker - Pink my lemonade!
  • Stainiac - Beauty queen
  • Bahama Mama (bronzer)
  • Hot Mama (shadow/blush)
  • Mary-Lou Manizer aka "The Luminzer"
Over time I'll show swatches, and reviews on it.  Which one would you like to see first?

Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!!

It's been awhile since I have done a classic animal print design on my nails.  At first I was going to stick with just leopard prints, but then I decided to mix in some cheetah prints with it.
  • Orly Bonder
  • China Glaze Classic Camel
  • China Glaze VIII
  • Orly Rockin Rockette
  • China Glaze Fast Forward Dry Coat
Thank you for stopping by, and hope you enjoy your day!  Happy weekend!

Nail Polish: Finger Paints Special Effects - Flashy

I was never really into flakies that much, but I have a few in my collection.  When I went to Sally Beauty, which I haven't gone in for so long, I was looking around for a certain color of polish.  Didn't find the exact shade I had in mind, but I saw this.

Review: Coastal Scents Go Palette Cairo

Today's palette and swatches are huge up thanks to my dear best friend Leslie (EWnD) who gave me this palette for my birthday.
This palette is basically a compact small size, for easy on the go really!  It won't take a lot of space in your make-up bag at all when you're going on travel.

Viewing the Sunset with Sugarpill

If you have Sugarpill's Burning Heart palette, the sunset look is one of those you cannot help but do.  If you have a yellow, orange, red, and purple eyeshadow in general, I suggest trying out a sunset look.  They're pretty fun to do!  I have done this look before with BH Cosmetic's 1st edition palette.

Review: Sleek iDivine Acid Palette

Sleek Make-Up is a cosmetic company that was designed for a dark skinned woman.  Their products are cheap, and is considered a drugstore brand.  The eyeshadow palettes go for $10 each.  When I first saw a look Leesha (xsparkage) did using the palette, I knew I had to get it.

Nails done? CHECK!!!

Today's nails are a tad simple.  I was meant to do some one-stroke nail art work on it, but after putting the flakie polish on, I decided to leave it as is.

A touch of neutrals

Today's look is dedicated to my good friend Emily (Very Emily).  She is a very talented nail artist and such a sweetheart.  Recently she shared with me a look she did using colors, and stated I inspired her to use color.  I know that she ventured out of her love for neutrals.  So I decided I shall do a neutral look, and venture out of my colorful looks I normally do.

A sweet and spicy taste of Sugarpill's Burning Heart

I thought I would open this little review up, with the sunshine of my life, my son Xan.  He wanted to help me do my swatches, of Sugarpill's Burning Heart palette when I got it.  So to make it more exciting for him, he asked me if he could have Pokeballs on his cheeks.  I told him we could do that, and he got even more excited.  To the point he even went to the store with his dad, showing off his cheeks.

So let's continue with the review and swatches of this gorgeous palette of theirs!
It may take awhile for them to ship out your item, but honestly it is worth the wait!  You'll notice the box right away since it has a kitty on the front with the Sugarpill logo.  By this time I was so glad I finally got my package, due to the fact stupid USPS did a misroute on my package -cries- But no worries, it got to me safely!  YAY!

My first Inglot experience!

So I'll be honest, I always thought Inglot was expensive!  Not until I actually checked it out on their site.
I have to say thank you to Leesha (xSparkage) and Christine (Temptalia) for opening my eyes to this beautiful company!
I began checking online, and didn't really want to pay for shipping since, I wanted to see how these looked in person.  Sorry but I have been fooled by some people's swatches -insert sad face here- lol.  I discovered the closest one to me was 45 minutes away.  INGLOT Y U NO HAVE CLOSER?!

Nail Polish: Wet 'n' Wild Megalast I Need a Refresh-Mint; Candy-licious; On a Trip

The new and updated Wet 'n' Wild Megalast nail polishes, which I might add "Nice UPGRADE!"  These look gorgeous compared to how they use to be!
Picked these up at Walgreens last week for a "Buy 2 at $1.99 and get 1 Free."  So it was basically $3.98 for all 3!  I have to say these bottles are super awesome compared to their other nail polish bottles.  Doesn't look so cheap, you know?

Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!

Welcome to my little blog

Hi the name is Emery, but people call me Emmie or Ems.  Which ever you prefer, I don't mind!
Some of you might know me from Endless Wishes and Dreams blog, that I shared with my friend.  I decided to venture off, and begin my own blog.  Something a little closer to me, where you could get my sense of style.  So I will be posting items from make-up to nail polishes, to looks I did to things I love to munch on.  Enjoy your stay here!
